In fifty years I will be 72 years old. I feel that within that fifty years many things will happen to me, and many things will change. One of the things that I feel will change the most is the clothing styles, and the way that young people dress. I think that trends seem to repeat themselves, so it will be interesting to see how the young people of the time will dress. At the age of 72 I will probably say about the young people, "I never dressed so inappropriate at my age!" Which might be true, might not be. I think it will be interesting to see how the trends change though.
One of the things that I think will also change very much is our economy, and the way that we spend money. I will probably say, "I remember when gas was only three dollars a gallon, compared to what it is now" This is something that I have thought about before, and with the economy like it is, and how things are getting more and more expensive over the years, I feel that this is definitely one of the things that will get more expensive within the next fifty years.
In fifty years the technology within society Im sure will change even more drastically then it is currently. I know that even now I keep thinking, who is thinking up this stuff anyway? In fifty years I am pretty sure that I will find much of the technology to be ridiculous, and not needed. I think that about somethings currently, so Im sure when I have grandchildren, and they all want the newest fad and the new lastest thing, Im pretty sure I will question "Why?" "Arent you content with what you have now?" Im sure this is something that my grandparents have thought or felt in the past, and I am sure that this is something that I will question in the future also. I have a feeling I will be one of those old ladies that says, "I remember when..."

Interesting post. I wonder how we "think" now. A fellow professor at UCLA makes the argument that consciousness is a side effect of what we do. In other words, we only act and feel like we have consciousness, but are really acting on another level that the consciousness can't access.
That being said, HOW do we think now? On paper? By discussing things? In arguments? By describing a dream to a friend?
Hi Jenny!
I agree with many of your ideas. I think I too will someday be an old lady who says, "I remember when..." like my grandma does now ("I remember when we didn't have toilet paper and we used the Sears catalogue instead," is one of the more memorable ones she's told me!). I agree that technology will advance and that when we are old we may not think all or any of it is necessary, because we lived so long without it (my grandma does have toilet paper in her house now though!). The one thing I didn't agree with in your post was the cost of gas. I think in 50 years, our society will not be so reliant on gas. I think cars will be electric or hydro-powered, and I don't think the everyday person will need to buy gas during their lifetime.
That's all!
Glad you got your blogroll working!
